Education

Primary school education in Malawi is free of charge and well attended. However, there is a fee for secondary school education and the attendance figures drop dramatically for a variety of reasons such as a lack of money, poor health and a lack of interest.

Our aim is to use sports as a tool to encourage as many people as possible to remain in education and improve their opportunities in life.

We were very encouraged to receive a letter (displayed further below) from a head mistress of a school that took part in our first school football tournament, who explained that enrolments had increased as children wanted the opportunity to take part in sports.
